I joined CILT many years ago when working for Caterpillar selling AGVs across Europe and studying at Cranfield. On moving to USA I continued to study (and occasionally taught) Supply Chain Management at Georgia Tech.
Returning to the UK, I managed Finning Lift Trucks before joining Unipart Technology Logistics. I then joined Inova, a Supply Chain consultancy, working in China and France and now work as the Operations Director EMEIA for National Instruments.
In pursuing my interest in Humanitarian Logistics I assisted in the formation of the Humanitarian & Emergency Logistics Professionals (HELP) to raise the professional standing and standards for Humanitarian Logistics. This included qualifications, planning and exchanging best practice. I delivered field training to Humanitarian Logisticians in UK, Turkey, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.
I have held various positions withing the Institute; leading the Materials Handling SIG, serving as a UK Board Member and working as Secretary General for two years when I enjoyed visiting our members in Malta, UAE, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Mauritius, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada.
As International Vice President I am passionate about providing opportunities to raise our professional standards through study, application, learning from our peers, and passing on our learning to others.
