As a Regional Ambassador I aim to deliver CILT values to Young Professionals in the South Asia region.
I joined CILT Sri Lanka in 2011 because of my strong desire to promote professionalism in transport & logistics and I continue to serve as a member of the CILT Sri Lanka National Council today. I appreciate the career defining opportunities presented by CILT Sri Lanka for me to interact with industry leaders in transport & logistics and my career has been enhanced by exposure gained through CILT networking and knowledge sharing events and platforms. Having a professional background in supply chain management, CILT is a doorway for me to explore and discover other avenues in transport & logistics.
In 2013 I won the CILT International Young Achiever Award in recognition of my contribution to both CILT and the Logistics and Transport Industry. I was a founding member of the CILT Sri Lanka Young Professionals Forum (YPF) and the former chairman of the YPF from 2012 to 2014. Under my leadership the YPF went on to organise a series of events and projects related to transport and logistics, including a national case study competition, public awareness building programs, research symposium, panel discussions, field visits, industry knowledge sharing sessions and skill development workshops.
I am now able to use this experience to help develop Young Professional groups and opportunities throughout the South Asia region
