As a professional body we look to promote education and learning in transport and logistics and the wider supply chain. There are a number of grants and awards available for individuals and organisations to apply for.
About Grants and Awards
Our awards are made at the discretion of CILT’s International Awards Committee. There are specific criteria that need to be met in order to be considered for an award, and these are detailed under each individual Award category.
Education Endowment Funding
The overall purpose of this fund, managed by the Trustees is –
To advance education in the field of transport and logistics by the provision of scholarships and prizes, lectures, libraries, and such other educational facilities and activities as shall be considered appropriate by the trustees.
Within the CILT Education and Endowment Fund, a series of awards, grants, and scholarships are available. CILT awards, grants, and scholarships are designed to encourage research into logistics and transport developments and needs in different parts of the world. Any CILT member at any level (including Student Affiliate) may apply for an award, either directly or through a Territorial Organisation or Institute Branch.
The Henry Spurrier Scholarships
These scholarships are intended to encourage research by contributing to expenses incurred in travelling and subsistence, obtaining research material or mounting a research programme. The awards are not intended to be used for tuition fees but may be used to support the necessary research for the completion of a dissertation for a higher degree. It is expected that a copy of the research report / dissertation will be sent to the Institute to be placed in the CILT Knowledge Centre and summary placed on the CILT International website.
